Back in 1973, The Union Mosaic Industry Public Company Limited (UMI) commenced its operations in Thailand with the manufacture of UMI mosaics chiefly for export, using advanced production technology from Japan.
Later, in 1983, Italian technology was embraced to enhance production efficiency and assure the highest product quality. The Duragres' floor tile was subsequently introduced to cater to the evolving local market.
In 1987, UMI unveiled the Lila' wall tile, being the first producer in Thailand to employ Monoporosa technology in its production.
WOver the past 30 years, the Company has continued to grow to meet ever-increasing demands. Its production capacity has grown exponentially from 5,000 squaremeter to over 70,000 squaremeter per day.
